Shipping & Returns

Return Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Any item purchased for more than $500 will incur a $25 re-stocking fee.

ShopTheRecord.com will pay the return shipping costs and waive any applicable re-stocking fee if the return is a result of our error (ex: you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.) regardless of the cost of the item. You must notify us of any defect or damage to an item within 48 hours of your receipt of the item.

Personalized and special order items may not be canceled or returned. These items include:

  • Personalized products, custom-made keepsakes, commemoratives or page reprints for
    a specific date or recipient.
  • Vintage autographed items, including hand-signed historical documents and
    hand-signed celebrity memorabilia.

In order to receive a refund:

  • Damaged merchandise must be returned in original carton and packaging, and securely sealed.
  • The shipping carton must be returned to address provided and include original documentation, packing slip and documentation that describes your reason for return. This will assist our Service Center in processing your return more quickly.
  • Item must be returned with all documentation included in original shipment.
  • Return items must be packed carefully so we receive them in their original condition. For added protection, we suggest insuring return packages with the U.S. Postal Service or Federal Express and requesting a confirmation of delivery or tracking number from the shipper.

No credit will be issued if any of the above requirements are not met. We will refund shipping and handling charges ONLY if our merchandise was damaged, defective or shipped to you in error.

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return carrier. In many cases, however, you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (usually within 5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (usually within 3 to 5 business days) and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (usually within 5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply log in to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We will notify you via email of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.


We can ship to any address in the U.S. When you place an order, shipping and delivery date estimates will be provided based on the availability of the item(s) and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page. We cannot guarantee the time of delivery.

We are not responsible for:

  • Items delivered to incorrect addresses supplied by you.
  • Unsuccessful deliveries arising from the recipient not being present at time of delivery at the address supplied by you.
  • Decreased product quality due to an incorrect delivery address supplied by you or a re-route requested by you.
  • Product quality problems caused by improper handling by the recipient.

Shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
